If you make steering wheels anything like you make lenses, count
me in for a steering wheel please, in fact maybe four of them for all of the
Mopars in my yard. Please let me know more information, I am very
excited about this.

Hello all, thourght I would put in a word on the
Steering Wheel situation, I will at some stage be seriously looking at
doing complete one piece remoulds of Mopar Wheels, but I just have so much
on my plate I do not know when I will get the time to do it. However I am
thinking I may offer a Quality Repair Service if there is the demand for
it?? Price would depend very much on the extent of the repair required,
but at a rough gess I would say around the $250-$350us for a wheel with a
number of bad cracks and or chunks missing etc. Of course this would mean
posting to me in Australia and you would have the cost of return post as
well, but it may be worth your trouble for a quality repair? please feel
free email me if you want to discuss it further, I am always open to new
ideas, regards George.

Thanks for the information. I am not looking for the
inexpensive solution here. I want it done right...but now you have
my curiosity up. What kind of expense are we talking about?

I "chased around" a lot looking for a solution
to the steering wheel problem on my '59 LeBaron.
It appeared impossible to find a
replacement or an individual/small company/anyone who could
repair steering wheels.
Eventually I found D & D Automobilia
who built me a new one. The job was excellent (a few other IML'ers
have had one built by him and share that opinion).
It is not an inexpensive solution.

Wheel Repair
Hello all:
I understand that there is a company in Florida somewhere who
does complete refurbishment of steering wheels to make them just
like new. Anyone out there tried this or aware of who does
it? The old man that I talked to who had it done couldn't
remember the name of the company that he sent his to, just said that
he found them in Hemmings. I could not find an ad for this
company, however, probably cause this old man had his done
better than ten years ago.
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks.
Teresa

If the cracks are VERY minor, they can often be
polished out.
