New to me 1960 Imperial

Bob,
Its great to here you are on your way to finish what I started. I too
love the 60 and you do have a great one to start with. My heart is truly
with the 55 and 56 years. To you guys on the list my 56 2-dr is for sale
in Tahachapi. I will find the web site again and post it. Beware of the
sale of it. The guy is saying the engine was rebuilt 5-years ago and
that is a lie. I did some engine work but not a rebuild. I wish everyone
on the list would contact the guy and low ball him for me then I could
buy it back from who ever. He is asking $12,000.00 for it. That’s funny
since I only had put about 3500.00 into it. He doesn’t deserve the car
or the profit guys and gals.
Tim Hulse 1955 Imperial Sedan.
Have a great day.
Car-Quest will have the rebuild kits for you Bob. So will Kanter.

Hi, Well I bought Tim Hulse's 1960 Imperial and it now lives in
beautiful San Diego. I have always wanted a 60 and this one is a great
one to start with. Tim and I had a lot of fun figuring out how to get
the car on the trailer since it was missing ramps. Thanks to a somewhat
steep driveway and Tim's car ramps we finally got it up on the trailer.
It rode proudly from Bakersfield to Yucaipa, CA where it waited until I
got it registered. I went back up to my sisters where it was stored and
again it rode proudly down the freeway to it's new, very much cooler,
home in San Diego. Thankfully, where I keep a lot of my cars, the alley
drops off fairly abruptly and allowed me to get the car off the trailer
without too much trouble. I had to pump up the brakes and drove it to
the local auto parts store and got tune up stuff for it. It drove great,
but without power assist, the Imp was a little hard to stop. Now I need
to rebuild the brakes and booster. I found that Napa has the wheel
cylinders, but I would like to try and rebuild the ones in it to save a
little money, any ideas where to get these kits? I currently have an 81
Imperial and have owned a 1955. Anyway this great car has a new loving
home and should be on the road again soon. Bob
