I once used some digital scales to weigh my 68 sedan (these are portable flat
units that you drive each wheel on them and get a reading). I was amzed that
the weight was exactly the same left and right, down to the resolution of the
scales (10 pounds). In contrast, a friends 69 olds Cutlass was not registering
the same left and right (do not recall the exact difference, but I think it was
of the order of 40-50 lbs). With some junk in the trunk but about 1/4 tank,
the 68 totalled 5480 lbs.
