Sorry, I don't every recall having to work on the rear window heater - I know it is a simple resistive load, and the indicator light is probably not an LED, it is more likely to be a small bulb of some type (the wiring diagram might help here), but beyond that, I know nothing. Living where I do (about 20 miles south of your folks home), you know how often I need the rear window heat!
