Your 1929 Imperial is most definitely a Chrysler Imperial. They were sold
as Chrysler Imperial from 1926 to 1954. The 1926 to 1930 Chrysler
Imperials are rare, not many were built to begin with. They had their own
unique hood with fluting similar to the Vauxhall of that era.
And, yes, all 1926 to 1975 Imperials (plus 1981-83 and 1990-93) were
products of the Chrysler Corporation.
The name Imperial was also used by some manufacturers for certain sedan
bodies. Cadillac used the name to denote the division sedan model
(limousine) of their Fleetwood long-wheelbase models. And of course,
Humber used it for their division window version of the Super Snipe sedan.
(The 1960's Humber Imperial was built after Chrysler acquired an interest in
Rootes.)
