IML DIGEST rebuilding 440 in 1968 Crown

Could be any number of things. I'd suspect the carb is gummed up or fuel
pump is weak. It sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me. If it starts
the timing is probably close enough that it would stay running. Same with
plugs, points, and wires.

When it dies and AFTER YOU HAVE TURNED THE KEY OF and aren't trying to start
the car, can you pump the throttle linkage by hand while looking down the
carb and see gas squirt out of the jets? If no, there is no gas in the carb
bowl. If yes, then the problem MAY not be fuel related.
