Oil Pressure droppes

Could be the sending unit. Is the oil pressure healthy during higher engine
speeds? Now that the hotter weather is here, the oil gets warmer (which is a
good thing actually) and may cause a reduction in idle oil pressure. If you
think the oil pressure is lower than normal for all conditions, you may want to
install a mechanical gage, so you know exactly what the pressure is. They are
under $20. It may be a little tough to remove the stock sending unit, but look
into the recent discussion in the archieves about a socket wrench that can be
used for that (I think its 9/16s). This sending unit is at the very back of
the engine, behind the intake manifold. If you want the stock sending unit to
be operable, install a "T" fitting, so that you can install both the little
pipe for the mechanical gage and the stock bell like looking sending unit.
