I'd go with the original order he listed. Pulling the engine of a freshly
painted car is an invitation for Mr. Murphy to come to visit. Plus it's
easier to go ahead and detail the engine compartment then cover it while you
are painting the car. Otherwize, you have to mask off the car while doing
the engine compartment. Even more important is having the hood off the car
and out the way when detailing the engine compartment.
