Help with starter removal on '67



Greg;
 It sounds like you need a starter wrench. A starter wrench is an open end
wrench bent into a "C" shape. You can either buy one or take a cheap wrench
of the correct size, heat the shaft, and bend it to the needed shape. I am
quite surprised that a socket won't fit over the top nut by itself, I seem
to recall that my main problem was that the head of the ratchet wouldn't fit
in that space with the socket. MoPar starters are a pain to get off, I had
to remove one exhaust pipe to get mine out, loostening it off was the easy
part.
