58 engine and tranny color

Hello Hugh. I would like to make a correction to your post. The spark plug 
wire covers are suppose to be black. I'm going by the numerous 
concours-quality restorations of Chrysler 300s are I've seen in various 
magazines over the years. These are mostly trophy winning cars that have had 
expensive frame-up restorations. It doesn't stand to reason that these folks 
spent mega-bucks and the restoration shops painted all these wire covers an 
"incorrect black". The ones on my engine were still painted black though they 
were badly faded. I sanded them down and repainted them. They make a nice 
contrast against the silver valve covers too. That's my two cents. Bye for
