Hi Hugh and list, In fact you are quite correct in dropping the fan to change the belts ,my 58 is the same maybe only 1/4" from radiator to fan.I still haven't had the correct reply from the list re my own question. That is that my car is set up with power stear and air but it also has an idler, the generator is driven from the back groove on the idler .This is a smaller dia than the other two grooves on the idler,it is allso the only groove that is on the same plane as the genny .The problem is that there are two grooves on the genny and nothing to drive the second one.The other belts drive from the two front grooves on the bottom pulley to the idler and then the air pump.a second pair of belts drive from the smaller rear two grooves on the bottom pulley to the water pump and out to the power stear pump .As first stated this leaves only a smaller dia groove on the inside of the idler to drive the genny.Belt sizes are all M section . 61" on the air / 44" on the power stear and 22' on the genny. I know this configuration does not match the two options given in the manual ,but so much would have to be changed to achieve any other result that it leaves me wondering how it got like this in the first place .I rather hoped that some one would come back and say (yeah mines like that too) Regards Keith Hopping N Z-- Original Message ----- From: "Hugh & Therese" <hugtrees@xxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 26, 2002 10:54 AM Subject: Re: IML: 392 belt installation > > Hi Hugh, > > ya gonna jus drop the engine?
