I installed the Mopar Performance system on my '67...I
assume we have the same new resistor, its about the
same length as the old MOPAR part, but has a funny
trapezoidal addition at the top.

The two resisitors have slightly different
resistance(the old one is 0.8 ohms or so and the newer
one is about 1.2 ohms). It isn't hard to attach the
new reistor, though. It should have a hole through
it, through which you can pass a bolt, and bolt it
into the same hole that the bracket bolt used. Hold
onto the old bracket, obviously, if for nothing else
than posterity. It would also be a good idea to use a
nylon washer behind the bolt head to prevent chipping
of the ceramic resistor. Tighten to about 20 or 30 in-lb.
