Hello Gang;
I wonder if it might be possible to get some window
weatherstriping, of the right profile, and make a rear window gasket for this
car. The front windshield gasket in a 1953-54 Chebby is basically a strip of
straight rubber, cut to the perimeter measurement of the window flange, with the
but ends glued together. Perhaps the window gaskets in Chrysler products
were fashioned in a similar method. If the gasket is made from neoprene or butyl
rubber, and not silicone, this would be certainly be feasable as glues are
widely available for either of these materials. The main thing to remember is to
keep the joint at the bottom of the frame as an insurance policy
against leaks. On somthing like a 67' sedan there may be no other choice
other then to do this.
