old trim parts

Good point, Arran. But not to worry
about us, we're more likely to be buried in the garage under an avalanche of
car and motorcycle parts than to actually throw anything away. We did
consider replating the trim parts and
in fact we are doing some of them that way. But for most of the die cast
pieces
it was far less expensive to buy nice
ones from George Merrick than it would have been to repair and replate
the old pieces, so that's what we did.
As you point out, the older these cars get, the rarer the trim parts become
so it is worthwhile to hang on to them or pass them on to others who may
eventually need them.
