Remember, generally if the company requires a deposit, they are a broker, so they may represent many truckers and transport companies. You pay the deposit ($200 to $500) and that is THEIR pay. You pay the trucker on delivery, usually CASH, and that is their pay. You may find that after making a deal with the broker, and the promises they made concerning pick-up time and delivery, etc., they no longer want to talk with you!!! That can be very frustrating, to say the least. I will never use a broker again. The time I did, I did not realize there was a difference, so I was ignorant of how it works. You now have knowledge, so be wary. Ask questions. You may also find that dealing directly with the transport company is cheaper, you can use a credit card, etc., plus they are the only ones accountable.
