440 dies at the stop light, 440 with hissing noises



Its probably an intake (vacuum) leak.  That's why it dies.  Either a vacuum 
hose, or the carburetor base, or somthing.  The brake booster hose is a very 
likely location.  Spray around with WD 40.  If the idle improves momentarily, 
you may have found the leak.  D^2
