red light

Hi All.
I am working on a 68 Imperial convertible.
On the dash there is a red light that is on when I turn on the key it was
not on before I dismantled the car.
It is on the left of the fuel gage.
I have not put fuel in it yet do these cars have a low fuel light.
Any help would be great.
