I responded to his ad I saw in Old Cars Weekly. Had a long talk. Great
guy. I had e-mailed about upholstery for a 60 Imperial convertible. He
returned with a full color photo set of the exact correct interior. Think
it was from the one Jeff Carter was selling a year or so ago. Anyway, if
you have the "skins" as he calls them, send 'em to him and he will do the
seats. He quoted me $900 for the front and $900 for the rear at the time.
Have not gone ahead with project--lots of body work and mechanical to do
first. Of course, you will have to have your local upholsterer install them
on your seats. Wasn't quite certain the "new" skins would include padding,
etc., like what one gets from Gary Goers for letter car interiors, or just
the leather/vinyl itself leaving all padding and cushioning up to you.
We talked for maybe half and hour. I finally got answers to what a 49
Mercury convertible interior could look like and why---ooops, non-Imperial!!

sold the one I finished in '98, sigh!!
