Today while at my mechanic to have my new power steering hose put on, one of the kids told me he saw a car like mine for sale at a body shop just a block away. I immediately went over to take a look at it, and wow, what a find! It was a Custom Southampton in Persian Pink, with a gray forward roof panel. It was a California car without any rust, and was in beautiful, drivable condition. The tail light rings had crowns on them, but there were no eyebrow crowns, and the interior was the custom pattern, and also in excellent condition, and looked all original. The car was loaded with every option, and the owner claimed everything worked, windows, seat, gauges, and even the radio! I wish I had seen this car before I bought mine, but it was a four door, and I wanted a two door. Paint was dull, but with a good rub out would be beautiful. I would be more than happy to go back and look at it, or ask the owner any questions if anyone is interested. I don't think he even has the car listed for sale anywhere. I have been looking at '59's for several months now, and this one is the nicest I've seen. Just thinking about the money I could have saved by buying this car instead of the one I did, really burns me, but at least mine has a few very unique features which are very rare to find on a '59, mainly the factory textured landau roof.
