  I was informed by my local MOPAR parts guru that if a 8.25 rear has a gear 
set lower than 3.23 it will have to be replaced because there insn't enough 
room inside for anything else as Chrysler made two different housings. He's 
been around Chryslers for 40 years so I hope he's right. He told me this when 
I found out the gear ratio Chrysler put in my 81 IMP was 2.24 and I was 
thinking of puting a 3.55 in it. I haven't been around Chryslers very long, 
my first one is my 94 Dakota and the 81 is my second. If this is wrong please 
let me know as the 81 couldn't get out of it's own way if I pushed it off a 
cliff!
