My experience parallels Dick's at least until I got some Nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight (100 for 12 bucks). They seem impervious to oil, grease and gas and are very difficult to tear. Good tactile qualities also but you are still wearing a rubber glove so your hands sweat like a pig. I've always hated to work in gloves but recently someone gave me a set of 'mechanics' gloves like you see at Auto zone/advance, ect for about 20 bucks. These things are GREAT. Comfortable, very good tactile feel (in fact I can pick up a penny off the floor), and machine washable. Now I'm not getting as much "...your hands look awful.." comments.
