Hi Mark,
As I recall, the pedestal is threaded (male) and screws into the base (female)
which is attached to the transmission tunnel. The little metal piece appears to
be something used possibly to secure the Tensor lamp? At the base of the right
rear armrest console near the floor and facing the door opening, there is a
cigarette lighter looking socket. Above that is a hole in the bottom portion of
the console with a rubber filler type opening. The opening in the filler piece
is approximately the same diameter as that of the metal piece with the hook on
the end. My guess, and it's only a guess, would be that one could plug the lamp
base into the socket (I don't know if it's hot) and somehow use the metal hook
apparatus to secure the gooseneck end of the lamp.
Who knows? But it's all there, whatever it is. Except the lamp.
