Had the engine rebuilt. Apparently the water passages of the block weren't cleaned. Thought it was boiled, but maybe not. So the water I put in turned bright brown with Rust and I'm at 600 miles now. Someone else in the garage today said that there was some remedy such as 4 table spoons of Borax into the radiator, so I'm here to hear about old wives tales on this. Aside from new coolant, anything else to abate the rust particulates that are going into suspension in the coolant, presumably out of the water jackets in the block? New radiator, pump, hoses and everything else... Used, freshly rebuilt 1970 440 block, obviously. By the way: I researched this REPAIR by clicking on that button on the club website and then clicking on COOLING SYSTEM and there are no apparent remedies besides flushing listed there. Any thoughts appreciated if not acted upon. Kenyon Wills __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
