IML: Imperials In other Countries

Hi Clinton

My Imperial is a USA car imported to Australia about 18 months ago from Washinton State.  Imperials were not offered for sale here in Australia however I beleive their could be a very very small number of pre war ones that were sold here (dont quote me on that).  We did have mainly US cars here pre war as we did not have our own car manufacturing plants until 1948 when we started producing Australias own car the Holden which was designed with the help of engineers from Buick.  They are still going strong today and are part of the General Motors Group.  Please send me your Email address and I will get some photos to you.

Is your Imperial the same as the U.S. models?  I am just curious if there were differences even back then in a companies offerings from Country to Country.  Send me some pics if you don't mind, I collect them.  Cole LeVasseur- Scio, New York

Gday Guys and sorry to hear about your probs Marc

Folks restoring Imperials in other countries find it hard to source parts
and the costs of Air Freight shipping can be enoromous. It would be helpful
if vendors could send stuff out by mail or a more economical way if
requested. I love my Imperial and would like to bring it back to it's
former glory and at a price that I don't have to take out a second mortage.
I have been burnt a couple of times but put it down to experience and
wouldn't use those vendors again so I guess it's there loss.

I must give a big "Horray for the Day" to all those folks restoring our
Imps outside the US.

Just my 2 cents worth
