Yes, I do in fact have the original wheel rims that came with the vehicle including the spare tire. They all have the cooling vents in them. Once the brake system repair/restoration is completed the next item before rolling down the highway will be a new set of 235 X 15 narrow whitewall tires all the way around. Gas tank and fuel line cleaning is in order too. Once I have all the above done, I can at least have confidence in the roadability and safety of the car. Another thing that will need to be done is to get the AC working again. The car always had really cold air in the past. That is an important item here in Texas where it often gets over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the Summer. Classic Tube doesn't have the tubing for the brake system. They indicate that they can make them from a pattern, which I assume is what a previous post referred to. Their phone no. is 1-800-882-3711 and I will be calling them. Thanks for the tip about adding spiral protective wire to the tubing! I have the wheel cylinders and brake shoes on order from NAPA in Sherman, TX today. As Kenyon says, the running gear and brakes are the most critical items to have in good shape and that includes new tires too. I have always insisted on changing any tires that had poor tread or were over 3-4 years old. Rubber tends to get rotten with age alone and ultraviolet exposure also deteriorates it. Joseph W.
