I haven't been under any of the cars lately to tell you about the position of the torsion bar in relation to the exhaust. I suspect it can only go one way.

Imperialists,As I recall, If I am in drive and I push reverse when the engine is hot, the same problem happens, the reverse button pushes in, the drive button stays in, and the transmission stays in drive. I never shift directly from Drive to Reverse, I shift into Neutral first. I read an article in Hemmings Classic Car that where the owner of a Chrysler with a push button transmission said that you should always shift into Neutral before shifting from Drive to Reverse. Does anyone know if this is necessary or not?
Also, which side of the torsion bar does the exhaust pipe go? From the FSM, it looks like the exhaust should be between the frame and the torsion bar. Right now my exhaust is on the other side of the torsion bar, real close to the transmission and shifter cable.
