I guess this comes up every few weeks. Assuming you have a correct hub puller, by which I mean a quality puller that has legs that attach to the lug nuts and a central piece that is placed against the end of the axle and turns, what you know need is a great big, heavy, hammer. A regular hammer not have the heft to budge the hub. This era of car has tapered axles. You need to overcome the very strong forces that are keeping the drum attached tot he axle.

My mechanic just can t take off the rear wheels to check out the brakes. Is there a twist , a trick or what? How do you take off those IMP 59 wheels ?
