Check the neutral safety switch just in case. When it happens, if you jiggle the shifter does the starter engage?

It sounds like a bad Ignition switch or bad wire from the switch to the starter relay. Have you tried to jump the relay under the hood to see if it cranks over? The you can go backwards towards the ignition switch.
