IML: 1960 ignition switch

Does anyone know why there would be different electrical connector configurations on the back of the ignition switch between two different cars?

I'm replacing my burnned up wiring harness with one from Bob.  My car has an alternator, the replacement harness came from a car with a generator.  Could that be the difference?
