Pinks and pastels were quite common from 1955 through 1959-60. Dark greys and browns, on the other hand, were not that common. The preference for ighter colours seemed to go had in hand with fins. As for ownership, you can get a copy of the build record from DaimlerChrysler Historical in Auburn Hills. It would show to which dealer the car was shipped and how it was ordered (sold car, dealer order, sales bank, etc.) Bill Vancouver, BC ----- Original Message ----- From: stephen844@xxxxxxxx To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, August 25, 2006 7:00 AM Subject: RE: IML: An Elvis Imperial? I just bought a pink '59 Crown Imperial, ser# M637-104158. This car was originally sold new in Tucson Arizona and is now in Vermont. I wonder if there was some connection to the music world or Hollywood? I think it was unusual for someone to order a pink car unless they wanted to attract special attention. Is there a way of tracing ownership on these cars?
