8 miles per gallon downhill in neutral with the wind coming from behind you!

Thanks everyone. It was fun checking out the Imperial yesterday. All the pot metal (?) trim inside the car is pitted and it looks like some previous owner did a quickie repaint and re-upholstery job on it, but overall it looks "okay." There were definitely some rust bubble showing through the paint on the lower quarter and the carpet looked like a new but cheap kit. The suicide single master cylinder was low or leaking and made for a couple of FUN STOPS during the test drive. But the old 440 seemed to be in good running order. I think his price of $500 is a bit high, considering what might be lurking under that new carpet and paint. I think I will sit tight and see if his price comes down after awhile. Does anyone have any photos of what a 66 dash pad SHOULD look like? I think the one in this car was a re-cover. The only "nifty option" I saw was power windows, but they operated very slowly. Is that normal? And finally, please don't laugh, but what sort of gas mileage could one expect from a 66 Imperial with 440? |
