I got a seal package for the steering box on my car from a chrysler dealer, all 1957 to 1989 RWD cars with power steering use the same seal kit, and the same steering box(with different pittman arms) The seals between the steering valve and the gearbox were bad on my 69 Newport, and leaked fluid as fast as you could pour it in. The kit included these, as well as new seals for the spool valve, but i'd leave the spool valve alone unless you know its leaking (pulls to one side), if they arn't installed perfectly, your car might pull to one side if the two sides dont seal perfectly equally (speaking from experience) I had my mechanic install them but the car pulled to one side( a few weeks break in fixed it) The boxes also tend to leak from the pitman shaft at the bottom, if the shaft is scored from grit, a new seal might not fix the leak. my '73's had that problem. Rebuilt Chrysler steering boxes should be available but your old pitman arm would have to be re-used. it takes a fairly big press to swap pittman arms, i hear. The factory manual has good info on the steering box also Eric Risse (69 newport (for sale) and 73 lebaron (parts car) --- ghquimby@xxxxxxx wrote: > Dear list, > > I need a steering box seal kit or a whole new > steering box for my 1962 Imperial.
