When I had the brakes checked the brake booster was not working properly. Because the '71 sat for 30 years.  We sprayed the booster with wd40 to reset/loosen the seals and it worked great for about a month.  Now I am loosing brake fluid and there is no apparent leaks showing.  What about loosing it via the booster thru the vacumn lines?  Is this possible or likely?   Regards Peter T. 1971 Imperial LeBaron
Some years ago, the master cylinder on my '71 Imperial started leaking back through the piston cylinder and out the back of the master cylinder.  The fluid was oozing down the bottom of the booster, and was completely out of sight until I removed the master cylinder.

You might take a mirror and look at the booster under the master cylinder.  Any fluid loss there well be obvious from the right angle.

Since the car has sat for 30 years, I would HIGHLY recommend changing the master cylinder anyway, along with all three rubber brake lines (two front and one rear).  I'd probably go ahead and replace the rear wheel cylinders while you're at it.  All of these parts are relatively cheap, easy to replace, and will go a long way toward insuring the safety of the car.

Good luck!
