Hey K,
Lifter noise is not fatal. I would let it run 1/2 HR in front
of the house. watching the temp & oil gauges while having a cold one. If the
engine was sitting like my 64 LeB the lifters could be stuck. Idling wont cause
any bad news to the engine at all even if it is noisy. Besides you will enjoy
yr. B--r! If it don't clear up then you have to remove the intake to see which
lifter is stuck. removing lifters from a V 8 isn't a hard task once the intake
is off.
