IML: 81 Imperial changeover

After testing a lot of things I have decided to remove the fuel injection and install a carburator.  Does anyone have a proceedure as far as the wiring goes?  Changing the intake, etc (bolts & nuts stuff) is easy for me, but I think I'll need some guidance on what wires to remove and what to keep.  I think it's been said that installing a mechanical fuel pump will pull right through the electric pump in the tank without dropping the tank and removing the electric pump.  Am I correct on this assumption?  All advise/guidance is greatly appreciated.  Thanks
