I do believe that is a flared fitting . The flare makes the seal and it must 
be nicked or somehow damaged. Take a real close look at the fuel line end 
and also the carb flare where the fuel line mates with the carb. With luck 
you can dress it with some emery cloth or something similar. Don't crank 
that fuel fitting too tight or you will strip the threads. If the mating 
surfaces are good it should seal no problem.
