Remco, Going AirRide will take some reengineering of the front suspension. The AirRide systems are designed for a coil spring front end design where the bags replace the coils. The only way I can see it working would be to adapt a different front suspension to the car. Have you contacted AirRide yet? I've talked at length with their representatives at some of the street rod shows. They are very knowledgeable, and quite helpful. I would steer away (pun not intended) from the Mustang II based front suspension kits for a car as large as the Imperial. I don't know what types of donor vehicles you have available in your area, but you may want to look at an '80's Dodge Ram pickup (2WD), or possibly a '87-90 Dakota as a donor. The Ram will probably have a closer track width to the Imperial. If you decide to reengineer the front suspension, I would look at installing a rack & pinion setup at the same time. It may get you some added clearance. The people at AirRide may have better options for you. Good luck. Rob McCall '67 LeBaron -----Original Message----- I am now building up my new engine with a 6-71 and a lot of other go fast stuff. I have a nice set of headers but the torsion bars from the front suspension are a bit in the way. Can I just remove the torsion bars and go airride?? Front first and later a 4 link on the rear axle also with air.
