 Anything that uses EFI has to have a throttle body.  This is where you
would pour your cleaner.  Some cars pose a problem because the throttle body
is sideways and it causes it to backfire.  When you have one like this you
can use the PCV Valve to suck it in.  Keep the engine at a high rpm and let
it suck the cleaner through.

On most EFI systems it is very difficult to anything into the engine through
the intake because it is all sealed and if you open up something you usually
get a "vacuum" leak and the engine will stop running or will run very poorly
 This is also true for "carb" cleaners. If you could insert a small orifice
tube (hypodermic needle etc.) into your intake you could probably suck water
into the engine through it. You would have to be able to seal the opening up
afterwards to eliminate any leaks. 
On newer cars I like to use the gas treatment cleaners every few of months
(4-6). They are relativelty cheap and effective.
