Charles,
I am overjoyed that you are going to keep your Imperial. Anytime we
can save one of these cars, it's a good day. I noticed you have a long
list of cars that you have custody of and would like to offer a suggestion that
worked well for me several years ago when I had several cars and not enough room
in the driveway or garage to keep them. My two car garage was attached to
the house and had nothing behind it, so I knocked out the back wall, installed
another garage door in the back wall and was able to drive all my Imperials
(and a few of my buddies VeeDubs) into my backyard. No one saw them until
we pulled them out front. In fact, one of my neighbors asked me one day
(after watching us take 3 cars out of the 2 car garage) how we pulled
off the "magic trick". Don?t know if it will help you keep things
away from prying eyes, but it worked for me then. (I now have a four car
garage and only three cars!) Best Wishes
Randy

Subject: IML: New!! I'm getting to keep
my Imperial
New Information, A man that
has been a friend in the past, has a spot I can park my Imperial. How good a
friend is he?? I am disabled and he came over to my house and with another
friend of mine pulled the Hemi drivetrain out of my old Imperial, without ever
meeting me previously, and would not take any money. I lost his address and
phone number and couldn't find him. My old Imperial was a rust bucket and was
too far gone to be repaired. It spent its first 3 years in
Chicago. Since the main problem with the new
Imperial is, it isn't running, I'm going to get the valve guides replaced and
new valves in the heads, so it will run on today's gas. Then I won't need the
special doors to hide the Imperial, if its
running. Before it was pulled it had my old
Imperial doing 130+ (the speedometer ran out of numbers), on the freeway. It
only has 55,000 miles on it. There was a lot of
great idea's from people on here, one I liked was a drivetrain replacing
party. I supply food and beverages and get the drivetrain replaced. I live
near San Jose California, and hopefully I can get enough people, so it moves
fast. If anyone has ideas that would help please let me know. If anyone can
think of strange or unusual parts I'll need please let me know so I'll have
them. I figure I can get everything ready after New Years, so if there's
anyone that can help, please let me know. Lastly,
so I can finish getting my anger out, my neighbor that caused the problem, is
of foreign background, and doesn't understand about loving cars. He feels you
should only have exactly the number of cars that you need. He asks me weekly
when am I going to sell them. I can't help he overpaid $550,000 for his 1080
square foot house. I can't help he and his wife work 2 jobs to pay for
it. He turned his grass under and has weeds and
dirt showing, I think that is worse than any nonrunning car I may have. You
can't see my car but everyone can see his "lawn".
The reason he moved 10 miles, is the school district I live in is one of the
best in the state, and he wanted to make sure his kids had the best.
Also the people of his and similar nationalities
are taking over the city government and I can't get heard. As a disabled
person maybe a discrimination lawsuit would get their attention.
This is the person that I lent tools to so he
could make repairs to his house. Never again will I help him!!
BUT, I believe in karma and he will get his 10
fold !! I appreciate all the ideas and suggestions I was given, Thanks!! I
felt I was driven into a corner and didn't have a choice. Thanks for
listening, that meant more than you will ever understand. Thanks again,
Charles in Calif.
