Re: IML: Looking at a used 26-inch radiator

Hi all,
the rad. in my 67 vert looked picture perfect, and even looked clean inside. but caused the car to slowly overheat, took it to a rad shop and the flow test showed it to be in need of a rod out, the brass was too old and weak to stand up to the procedure, i repaced the 3 row core with a 4 row for 315.00 and it worked great the only way to tell is to take it to a rad shop and have it fow tested. if i were to do it again i might look into an aluminun rad though.

Hi, all --

In my quest for an engine to drop into the '66, I ran across a young man who wants to sell me a 26-inch radiator in what appears to be good condition for $40.  Is this a good price?  Never having bought a used radiator before, what should I look for in terms of fatal flaws?

Happy motoring,
