Re: IML: clicking noise and torsion bars

It does sound like the solenoid. You can replace it fairly easily. Drop the starter, take the screws out that attach it to the strter motor case, and disconnect the actuator arm. What I do is take the solenoid apart and dress or flip the large copper disk that is the contact for the solenoid.

Subject: IML: clicking noise and torsion bars

Hello List,

I have a clicking noise coming from my '66 when I'm trying to start it. It will start the second time you turn the key, but the first time it "clicks"

Does this sound like the starter solenoid? If so is it on the starter, and is it easy to change?  I took the battery cables off, and cleaned them. This did not stop the problem.

Also, how do I adjust the torsion bars on my '66? The driver's side is leaning a little.
