RE: IML: EFI plugs

Last time I needed them was a few years ago, but I used Champion plugs -
from memory I think they were the plug that crossed over from the Autolite
945, which was not then in stock at NAPA.

I can tell you the Champion number tomorrow; I still have the box they came
in (from memory, they were RN13LYCs, but I'm not certain of that). So
far(about 30,000 miles) they are performing just fine, although I do prefer
Autolite when I can get them.

The original 68ERs have been not available for many years. The Autolite
945 was the recommended replacement about 18 years ago, when I got my first
81 EFI car.

Subject: IML: EFI plugs

Don't care to start a brand war. I just know that several of the plugs
designed for these cars have been dropped. What is the common choice of
plugs for the efi cars these days? I know this has been gone through to
death in the past, but My understanding is that the Champion part has been
superceded and may in fact be the same part as my 318-2bbl. The list seemed

to recommend Autolite 945s, but I'm not sure they are still available.

I went to Autozone to ask for Autolite 945. See if this sounds familiar:

Me: Do you have autolite 945s?
Parts drone: Huh? I don't know. What car is it for?
Me: I just want 945s.
Him: What car?
Me: "82 Imperial efi
Him: It needs 65s.
Me: No, 945s.
Him: I can get you 8 of those 65s.
Me: Dear Lord help me. Good bye.

Rob
