It is rather interesting to encounter this
dual-carb discuss-
ion this week; I just returned Sunday from Iola
Wisconsin where I met, among others, a gentleman from Virginia Minnesota who was
driving a 1959 Desoto Fireflite 4-door sedan in faded pink-and-white that had an
emblem on the front fender that said it was "Adventurer-equipped" or some thing
like that and had a 383 with two 4-barrels. He said it was ordered new in
Waupaca Wisconsin, and also sports electric window-lifts, factory-air, and
swivel seats-both sides with 6-way power! The car is solid and all there, but
very-much original and somewhat shabby. He was a delight to talk to, and said he
had a lot of fun when he takes it to run at the Brainerd race-track and pulls up
next to some young hot-shot in a hot car tricked-out with all the goodies. He
said he hasn't lost yet!

Subject: RE: IML: imperial question
To the best of my knowledge,
the only pre-1958 Chrsyler products
having 2 carbs was the Chrysler 300 letter series -
We had a '57 300-C convert. - dual 4 barrels, record player and
all.
DeSoto's answer to the 300 was the 1956 Adventurer,
but I am unsure whether Adventurer had dual carbs.
