RE: IML: Imperial Brake Conversion

So do those Impala rotors and hubs give us the original bolt pattern? I'm thinking my rear wheel drive Caprice cop cars did have a big bolt pattern, but not sure of the exact size.

Hi IMLer's;

I have a 61 Imperial 4 door hardtop and about 3 months ago, I called AAJ brakes and
actually spoke with head guy of the company for about 30 minutes. They told me I would need to remove
either the 2 front spindles for a 2 wheel conversion or 4 spindles for the 4 wheel
conversion off of my Imperial and send them to AAJ Brakes. They totally rebuild the
spindles off the original car and attach Impala SS Rotors/calipers to the spindle and then
send it back to me. They also sell all the brake lines, etc.. to put it all together properly.
They also told me they use the original Imperial spindle and convert it to make sure everything
is guaranteed to fit correctly. I would suggest that anybody wanting to do this conversion,
to call AAJ Brakes and actually talk with them about any concerns you have over proper fit, etc..

Sincerely,

John Nimmo
