Keep it simple. Regardless of what the clerk reads off the list for your car, and they will invariably say group 24, insist on the highest rated group 27. Regardless of "new tech" pitches, in batteries bigger is better. It even fits under the thermal cover on my 82 Imperial, so you know it will fit older boats. Top posts of course, and left or right polarity per original. There are only a few American companies that make all batteries, regardless of brand, so shop amp rating, warranty, and price. You might want to keep your Imperial All American, so ask or find out the source. Many are now imported from Asia. For further data, check "car battery manufacturers" on Google. Ken Stephenson

For example, you go to Sears & you see all sorts of price ranges & sizes of batteries on the shelf. You tell the clerk what year Imperial its for & they look it up. You think they are going over to the largest battery they have. Probably not. The one they usually want to sell you looks like it was made for a small car with no power accessories. Do you go with this, or simply state you want the largest battery with top posts that they make? John
