IML: Landau Roof Treatment for 1959 era Imperials

My '59 Le Baron is under restoration and is nearing the point were we 
need to recreate the "textured" appearance of the Landau section of the 
roof. I have read brief descriptions of how Chrysler did this 
originally, but was wondering if any body had experience doing this 
using modern day paints and techniques.
