RE: IML: Is this the "MultiPlex"?

Radio is a fuzzy science, or a scientific art, if you
will...so many factors can come into play that
predicting reception is about as accurate as betting
on horses. On my '67 with monoraul radio, reception
and sound quality is very good as long as I am in
Baltimore or in DC...about halfway between each the
foot tuner will only grab one or two stations on the
whole FM dial (99.1, used to be a decent rocker but
now Mexican Music, and 106.5) and I'm stuck in manual
mode for any of the other slightly hissy but otherwise
acceptable stations.

As for the black art aspects, topography, weather,
proximity to power lines (esp high voltage lines like
pantographs for electric trains), the phase of the
moon, sun spots, atc all contribute to reception or
lack thereof. I imagine texas to be a more favorable
radio environment- relatively flat, good weather,
fewer stations, etc. Than the Baltimore/DC area.

While I like the radio in the 67, I plan to install a
modern setup (hidden, of course) to not only give me
better selectivity for the fuzzy zones, but also allow
playing of CD's.
