"If you park it...they will come"
The rolling hills of Iola, Wis., will become an automotive field of dreams when thousands of show cars and vendors pour into the town for the 36th annual Iola Old Car Show, to be held July 10-13.
Instead of an appearance of long-gone baseball players
and actor Kevin Costner, an impressive display of show cars is being assembled for the event, particularly in the theme area, which will feature convertibles and rumble seat-equipped vehicles.
Taking center stage during this grand automotive vision
will be one of famous concept car collector Joe Bortz' incredible finds.

Matt's Blog: That is NOT the Way I Roll
When you spend your days and nights surfing the Web looking for interesting, entertaining, and sometimes simply strange auto-related stories, you sometimes find yourself lulled into thinking?"Man, I've seen it all!"
And then you run across
something that reminds you what a crazy, messed up world we live in. Last week it was the "artist" that delighted in smashing two Pontiac Firebirds for the sake of "art."
Well, believe it or not, it happened again this week.

Ford Taps College Students for Modern-Day Tin Lizzie
Summer school is well underway for five teams of college students from universities in Germany, California, Australia and Michigan, charged with the task of developing a modern-day version of Ford's Model T in honor of the car's 100th anniversary this
fall. A few short weeks have passed since Ford announced the international contest, but even at the announcement students at all five schools (including two in Michigan) were brainstorming ideas to meet the requirements of spending $75,000 to design a simple,
lightweight and practical car, that will be priced below $7,000. The winning team will be announced Oct. 1, following a busy summer of activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the car that changed the nation.
To get into the spirit of celebration
and venture back to the beginning of Ford's fantastic Tin Lizzy check out The Legendary Model T Ford. This beautiful book combines company history, rarely seen production details,
and tales from Ford owners, with 300 superb photos.
