[GFS] '56 distributor recommendations

Hi GFSers,

 

Going down the stretch on my Fury.  One thing that did not come with my car/motor was the original dual point distributor.  Years ago I recall that Eddie Sachs said he went and got a stock single point set? distributor out of a '62 poly and put a pertronix kit in it.

 

Does that sound right?  Has anyone tried that or, if not, any other recommendations on a distributor to use?  Anyone using a "performance" type distributor?

 

Am open to any all recommendations.  Thanks in advance.
