what is the trick to get the cover off? I have taken the two bolts off the back. is that all that holds it on? -----Original Message----- From: eddee [mailto:eddee@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 11:51 AM To: goldenfin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [GFS] ?power steering leaks That o-ring replacement should be no problem no matter what pump,,,you may want to try and replace the reservoir cover!! . If its bent a new oring may not help. Anyway--it is a standard oring,,,can be obtained from any plumbing supply. IF you are lucky you have the new pump. The pulley must be a press on type and the return flow is to the reservoir,,, not the pump casting itself. That an easy way to tell. (CALLED THE SLIPPER PUMP) The earlier pump is a nightmare. Are you talking about the o ring for the reservoir or the seal for the shaft under the front pulley? Both were shot on my slipper pump and easily replaced.
